The new version of the "Technical Requirements for Decorative Applications of Natural Slate" has been officially released, which makes mandatory provisions on the cleavage structure, anti slip grade, and outdoor weather resistance indicators of slate. Slate belongs to low-grade metamorphic mudstone, with complete natural plate-like cleavage, which can be easily cleaved into flat thin sheets along the bedding plane. The surface is naturally matte and has natural concave and convex surfaces, without the need for mechanical polishing. The colors are mainly green gray, dark green, rust, and black, with a rough and simple texture.
The anti slip grade of slate far exceeds that of marble and granite, and it will never slip in humid environments. It has excellent resistance to weathering, freezing and thawing, and waterproof and moisture-proof properties. Its outdoor stability is extremely strong, making it the preferred natural stone for villa exterior walls, courtyard floors, step treads, and anti slip floors around swimming pools. Slate has a light and lightweight texture, which can effectively reduce building loads. It is easy to construct, cost-effective, and has a high cost performance ratio.
