The new national standard for natural stone categorizes quartzite separately, clarifying its quartz metamorphic rock properties and comprehensive performance levels. Quartzite has a quartz content of over 90%, a Mohs hardness of 6.5~7, a warm and delicate appearance similar to marble, and a hardness and durability performance close to granite. It perfectly combines the advantages of both and is currently the most cost-effective mid to high end natural decorative stone.

Quartz rock is resistant to acid and alkali, weathering, has extremely low water absorption, is stain resistant and waterproof, and is not prone to color bleeding and cracking. It can be safely used both indoors and outdoors. It is suitable for outdoor exterior wall dry hanging, indoor floor and wall surfaces, kitchen countertops, washbasins, and stair treads, and its comprehensive performance is superior to marble. The standard specifies that natural quartzite is a Class A low radioactive and environmentally friendly stone, which meets national safety requirements for large-scale indoor and outdoor use. After polishing, quartzite has a lustrous and soft luster, without rough granite spots. The texture is natural and smooth, and the style is modern, simple, and high-end. It is widely used in modern high-end home decoration and commercial public spaces.
There is a fundamental difference between quartzite and artificial quartzite. Natural quartzite has a unique texture and a transparent, high-quality texture, while artificial quartzite is made of artificially synthesized particles with a dull texture. Quartz rock has a brittle texture and is more difficult to process than marble, but its durability and stain resistance are greatly improved. The current decoration market pursues a balance between aesthetics and durability, with quartzite quickly replacing low-end marble and cold hard granite as the mainstream material for modern decoration. In the future, quartzite will continue to optimize its processing technology, expand more customized applications for irregular shapes, and continuously increase its market share.
